East Nashville Magnet Middle

For East Nashville Magnet Students

SMARTKids (YCAP YMCA)

Sports, dance, teambuilding, games and leadership are just some of the activities that you’ll enjoy at YMCA SMARTKids. Mix in some homework help and tutoring, plus multiple field trips during the year, and you’ll find that afterschool feels new with SMARTKids on Russell St. Staff will pick up students at school and will also offer drop off bus service for students who live within our bus route zone.

Read and Rise (Urban League of Middle TN)

The Urban League of Middle Tennessee’s Read and Rise after school literacy program is designed to support increased proficiency for students in reading, promote positive development of students, and engage adult family members in the learning process through focused family events. The program consists of after school tutoring, reading clinics, homework assistance, life skills workshops, enrichment activities, and quarterly family literacy events.

Enrichment Offerings

  • Create – students will be able to explore different art forms such as creative movement, creative writing, martial arts, dance, music, painting, sculpting and more!
  • FASTBREAK – students will learn the basic fundamentals of various sports to promote teamwork, health, and wellness.
  • Design – students will be introduced to the engineering process and will solve environmental issues, create health technology, and experiment with architecture and construction.
  • Chess Club – students will learn to play chess and other strategic board games.  Students will also receive career development advice.

Computer Technology, Projects, Sports, Team Building, High School/College prep., to name just a few of the activities that you can participate in with the YMCA NAZA program. Come use your imagination as you learn many different ways to explore your creative side in the arts. Add in health and wellness, homework and tutoring, and this makes a fun and exciting place to spend your afternoon. Come get turned up in the “Y”!!

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee provides a fun, safe environment for youth to learn, play, grow and meet new friends. From sports to education and group activities, it is the place where great futures are started each and every day!

KIPP Nashville

For KIPP Nashville middle school students

WWCW Afterschool Academy

WWCW Afterschool Academy will feature a hardy snack, homework help and tutoring, and enrichment both sports as well as the arts (dancing: African/hip-hop, spoken word, flag football, golf, Step, etc.). We will also have students from local colleges and universities to assist in our mentoring program. In addition, we will have an incentive field trip to be taken at the end of the semester for participants that have perfect attendance, improved grades, and little to no office visits.

Estudiantes Learning Diversion! (Conexion Americas)

Estudiantes Learning Diversión! is a unique program design to engage Latino students in fun and exciting hands-on activities to explore the rich history of the Latino culture and Spanish language, while also providing tutoring and homework assistance. We will learn, create, and imagine! through many different activities like arts and crafts, games, music, community service opportunities, and more.

Stratford Middle

The Union (Martha O'Bryan Center)

The Union, a Martha O’Bryan Center’s Academic Student Union at Stratford STEM School, creates a new model for middle school programs by treating seventh and eighth grade students as emerging high school students and focusing on the critical developmental years of adolescents. Programming is school-based, open to all seventh and eighth grade students, flexible with students’ sports and extracurricular activities, and provides compelling, culturally relevant activities year round.  Staff is active during and after school, and ensures every student has the academic, social and emotional, and college and career guidance to successfully transition from middle to high school
