Becoming a Collaborative Partner with NAZA
NAZA provides base funding to experienced afterschool providers who are members of the NAZA network of “Anchor Partners.” Anchor Partners oversee individual afterschool sites and must meet threshold tests of program quality. They also agree to participate in professional development and formal assessment aimed at tracking and improving program improvement.
NAZA is always seeking to collaborate with individuals and organizations that can offer enriching activities to middle school students within the afterschool context. Teaching artists, health educators, yoga and martial arts teachers, spoken word literacy teachers, career exploration and life skills experts---all are needed at NAZA sites, both as volunteers and as NAZA Enhancement Partners.
To volunteer, please go to: www.pencilfd.org
To become an approved NAZA Enhancement Partner, go to http://alignmentnashville.org/itp to respond to the NAZA Invitation to Participate

Helping Students Apply to the Z.
Students must apply to participate and will be accepted on a first come-first served basis. Applications are available from principals at participating schools or from your Zone Director. Applications are accepted at the beginning of each semester. Once enrolled, students and parents must commit to regular participation; NAZA is not a “drop in” program.
Northeast Z.
The Northeast Z. is Nashville’s first After Zone and comprises the areas within the Maplewood and Stratford high school clusters. Z. programs are available to students at Bailey, Gra-Mar, Isaac Litton, and Jere Baxter Middle Schools. In addition, East Literature Magnet middle school students who live within the Stratford or Maplewood cluster may apply to participate.
